Any Ideas???

HELP!!!!

SO I have been thinking about what to do to capture those precious moments. Should I do a scrapbook,

should I just keep an album with little descriptions.....

I just don't know. Does anyone have any ideas of what else to do to keep memories and photos. Scrapbooking can just get so expensive and I don't really like the digital scrapbooking look very much unless you know something I don't. So please help me! What are you ideas?

For Makenna's first year I did a 8x8 size scrapbook. When you open the page one side is a calendar for the first month, where you can write down each milestone on the day it happened. Then the other side I picked out my favorite pictures for that month. The next page I wrote down fun things that happened that month or just thoughts about her and then more pictures on the other side for that month. Then so on with month two, then month three, etc. until her first birthday. It's fun to look back and see when she started doing certain things and is a fun way to put it all together with pictures.

I did the calendar thing to, but I never added any pictures. I think actual scrapbooking just takes way too much time & money. I'm planning on printing my blog into a book--since most of the posts are about Jace anyway. Let us know what you decide to do :)

I am not a scrapbooker. I just don't have it in me to dish out the dough and to keep it up for every kid we have. I am however very much a photo person, so I just keep them all organized in our family album. I also had one picture from a few days after she was born blown up into and 8*10, matted with a 1" matting and framed and then decorated the matting with things like her crib card, her footprint, her name, etc. kind of in a scrapbook form. It's really cute.

Hey Tara...so glad I found your blog! Congrats! I have kept pictures organized in a photo book and also have a journal that I keep for my kids. I write down their birth story, all the little milestones they pass and all the cute things they do!! I love it! It is so fun to go back and read and I think/hope they like it when they get older. I also want to print my blog into a book because all my posts are about my kids. oh this is sara crowther...just so you know!

Mike printed the first year of our blog as an anniversary gift through Blurb. You can choose what to keep in the book, so if you just want stories about your baby, you can take the other things out.

Hm, guess I can't really help you. I don't scrapbook {like you said, too expensive and who has the space for all the stuff?}. I've done digital online {scrapblog.com} and it's really pretty user friendly. I'm sure there are dozens of things you could do - and I wish you luck in deciding! :)

My mother-in-law used to keep a journal for each of her kids from the time they were born to when they could keep ones themselves. She'd include milestones, pictures, information about family events, etc. She just used a regular notebook, but you could use scrapbooking stuff if you want. I just know it means a lot to Adam to look back and be reminded of how he was as a baby.

Hey Tara! Congratulations on the little one! Very exciting. Do you live in St. Louis? I thought I remember seeing on your facebook that you lived there or something. Maybe I'm crazy. But anyways...we are moving to that area. We are actually going to be in Illinois but like right on the border. Let me know if you are in the area!!
