May Recap

*We had a lot of fun in May*

It all started with a Rockies game.  Some friends of our had some tickets and took us along.  The seats were awesome!  4th row behind the Rockies dugout.  The kids did great and we had a fun night.

Second fun thing...Mother's Day!

If you can see in the picture, Eden made me a necklace out of fruit loops in nursery.

The next fun thing we did was on Memorial Day. There is a big park here in Denver called Washington Park or Wash Park.  It is similar to Liberty Park in Salt Lake or Forest Park in St Louis.  Huge park with a lake, trails, sand volleyball, parks etc.

So before we left we packed a cooler with snacks and drinks and headed out.

We were there nearly all day.  We brought our bikes along and the bike stroller.  We did a lap around the lake and then we found a shady spot and set up a picnic.  Eden played at the park and then we chilled on the picnic blankets while Colby and his dad road their bikes to pick up a couple subway sandwiches.

Axel's day was thrown off with no morning nap so he was getting a little irritable and tired out.

Eden saw other kids walking in the creek so Poopa thought Eden should take a stroll too!

After lunch we decided to ride the paddle boats while Axel took a little cat nap with Grandma.

We hit the water and man those boats are harder work than you would think.  Course I was sitting in front with Eden so I was peddling by myself.

Axel didn't sleep very long so we peddled back over to the dock and picked up him and grandma.  Boy that made the peddling much easier.

Eden loved the boat.  We fed the ducks some tortilla chips so they were swarming all around us and she loved it.

Axel was getting pretty ornery, that life vest on him was anything but comfortable, and the sun was beating down hard so we decided it was probably time to head home.

May was a good month and we did a lot of fun things.  Excited for June as we have a lot planned.

*Gymnastics*

I have been dying to get Eden into some activities and classes.  So we found a free introduction class for gymnastics and jumped on it immediately! She has been jumping and climbing all over the furniture lately so I thought maybe would could channel all that energy.

I found a video online on their website and showed it to her and she was stoked!

At first she was very timid and shy, as was expected.  The other students knew the routine so she was a little lost.  But the teachers were really fabulous and took great care to give her attention.

As soon as they started I was nervous because right off they did summersaults and Eden has yet to master that task.  I think up until this point she has only done it once or twice.  But she did it about 10 times while she was there, so we are getting better.

Next, they moved onto the trampoline, which I thought she would love because she jumps on grandma's everyday.  But there was a little trepidation after her first time on it.

The class was getting ready for their show in couple weeks so they were rehearsing all the different events.  First, she attempted the balance beam and was a champ!

Then they headed over to the parallel bars.

One of those summersault attempts.

She loved these little parallel bars and we were quite impressed with how well she did.

Another one of those summersaults!

She loved the uneven bars!

Especially flipping around on them!

We were so proud of her and had quite the struggle trying to leave.
We definitely want to sign her up though.  They have camp throughout the summer.  Ever week they have a three hour class where you can drop them off and they do gymnastics, a craft project and snack time.  All of it is centered around a theme like super hero's or cars, trains and trucks.  It really is such a fun little place and can't wait to see her do it again!

10 Months

What?!!? My boy is in double digits!

Can't believe I am already thinking about his first birthday.

This little guy has brought so much joy to our life and to our home.  His smile alone makes any frustration or depressed thought vanish into thin air.

Yeah he definitely needs a haircut but his daddy loves to style it.

He loves to eat puffs and Cheerios.  It makers everything better!

There is only one thing this lil guy does that drives us nuts. In fact it drives everybody nuts! With two teeth on top and two on the bottom he loves to GRIND THEM TOGETHER! Dah!!!
Sends chills up our spine!

He loves his blanky's!!!  My Visiting Teacher has the cutest company called Cutie Petutie Originals.  She makes the most darling blankets.  Anyway, she had discovered that Axel didn't have one yet (Grandma bought one for Eden, Lydia, when she was born).  So she brought me her latest one!  I love chevrons!

STATS:

No crawling but creeps backwards.
Loves cucumbers and pineapple.
Says, 'uh oh' and da da
Blows raspberries on cue
Leans in and gives kisses! :)
Still abused by his sister
VERY tickelish!

Oh this boy!  I am just obsessed with him!
